PROGRAM DIRECTOR OR DESIGNEE
JOB PURPOSE:
THE PROGRAM FACILITATOR/ADVISOR PLANS YOUTH AND ADULT ACTIVITIES, IMPLEMENTS CURRICULUM, AND SUPERVISES YOUTH AND/OR ADULT EVENTS. HE/SHE EVALUATES ACTIVITIES AND OUTCOMES WITHIN A SPECIFIC PROGRAM AREA.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma/GED required Minimum 2 years experience working with youth and families. (Associate degree acceptable alternative). Must have excellent speaking, reading and writing skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement SkillsUSA curriculum
- Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of youth development outcomes
- Promote and stimulate program participation, especially for teens
- Recruit new members and participate in their program orientation process.
- Provide guidance and role modeling to members
- Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for all youth and families enrolled. Track and assess outcomes through periodic activity reports.
- Participate in weekly staff and planning meeting with team members.
- Participate in on-going professional development activities and suggestions.
- Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure increase knowledge or behavior changes through quality programming.
- Facilitate the appropriate curriculum to youth enrolled in the program.
- Help clients correctly complete needed paperwork
- Maintain our inventory of office and caregiving supplies
- Maintain volunteer contact information and hours of service
- Plan and participate in special programs or events (competitions, awards ceremonies, field trips, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with all staff (professional and volunteer), clients, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions, instruct, and advise /counsel.
External: Maintain contact with external community groups, schools, partners, and parents to assist in program development and quality.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years experience working with similar age children
- Knowledge of youth development
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior in appropriate ways
- Good Customer Service Skills
- Ability to plan and team with other staff
- Ability to implement curriculum appropriately
- Ability to organize and supervise youth in a safe and supportive environment
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications
- Valid State Driver’s License

VIRTUAL LEARNING CHILD DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST/ COORDINATOR
JOB PURPOSE:
Support the Child Development Specialist in implementing the Virtual Learning Preschool to Children, Families and Providers enrolled.
Assist with the implementation of the Parents As Teachers Curriculum for 0-3 and 3-5 year old students.
Conduct monthly socialization opportunities (Parent/Provider and Child Times Together) in the form of group activities, celebrations, or field trips
Coordinate or conduct focus groups or CAFES quarterly with parents and/or providers.
Conduct monthly Home visits with each caregiver.
Assure that homes have access to resources for learning.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work as a team with child development Specialist to implement learning
- Assist with in-person or virtual instruction with parents or providers of children enrolled in the program using PAT program
- Assist with recruitment and marketing of the program.
- Conduct monthly home visits with each family enrolled - virtually /or in person.
- Maintain and inventory lending library of educational materials Coordinate Conduct 1 PACT activity monthly
- Assist with the Documentation and tracking of Units of Services provided
- Participate in PAT (Parents as Teachers) professional development and certification
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- An associate degree and two years of experience working with children and families
- Some knowledge of child development
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good communication and personal skills, including ability to read and write professionally.
- Enrolled in Gateways Professional Development Program
- Able to pass DCFS background check
- Mandated Reporter
- Valid State Driver’s License
