Are you ready to help your child get the skills and training they need to get a job they love? With SkillsUSA, they will get technical training and instruction in skills that are in need today, as well as learn how to be well-rounded workers and citizens. They will also learn the importance of lifelong learning and personal pride. The program will help your child grow as a person and discover new abilities as they set goals, plan projects, and complete them, working alongside instructors and community leaders.

SkillsUSA programs also focus on problem-solving skills, effective communications and working together as a team – all qualities that employers value and look for when hiring or promoting workers. These programs emphasize the importance of having high ethical standards and superior work skills, which help boost self-confidence.

Whether planning a career day at school or a service project out in the community, SkillsUSA activities are great learning experiences because the students direct and manage them. There are seven areas of focus in the program:

  • Professional development
  • Community Service
  • Employment
  • SkillsUSA Championships
  • Public Relations
  • Social Activities
  • Ways and Means

The program is for 7th and 8th grade students and is hosted by Carver Center and Quest Academy. Sign up through the Carver Center.
